Our Patla Desks
We are often asked to supply suitable desks for madrasa students. Their current 'study benches' often have chipped wood and rust, and are bulky to lift, stack and store - all potential safety issues. They are not aesthetically pleasing, and do not lend themselves to individual study. However, alternatives were simply not available.
Books Asia took the step to design our own 'Patla' desks in the UK, and now manufacture them in China.
Made for a special book
Our desks are designed for use in Madrasas, Mosques and Muslim Schools where religious books are typically studied by large numbers of students, sitting in rows on a carpeted floor. The desks are equally suited to home use too.
Made of ABS plastic and measuring 15"(w) x 22"(l) x 3"(h) or 10"(h ext), they can sustain long term use with very little wear. The legs can be folded, and the desks safely stacked, even by younger students, for easy storage.
The artwork is designed to match the typical interior decor of a mosque. The surface is scratch resistant and easy to keep clean.
